Call for abstracts is open now!

Child in the City presents….’Keep on Moving’

The great port city of Rotterdam will host this year’s Child in the City Seminar – and we’d love for you to share your work.

Our theme this year is ‘Keep on Moving, and so if you’d like to present the details of your particular research or project, and share its findings with your peers, then why not submit your abstract to us?

We’re keen to read about the work that you are doing on behalf of children, and would be delighted to help you share it to our audience of children’s experts.

The Child in the City Seminar takes place from 3-4 December at the Lantarenvenster in Rotterdam, the Netherlands  and our call for abstracts is now officially open, and will remain so until September 1.

‘Keep on Moving’ is the central theme, with the focus on the following three specific topics:

1. Inclusive Spaces and Initiatives for Play and Sports
2. Children’s Mobility
3. Climate Change and Climate Justice

Physical activity is a hugely influential factor in the wellbeing of children and young people, and at the seminar we would like to work in a truly interdisciplinary way to focus on the problem of children’s sedentary lifestyles, by bringing together a whole range of experts, including academics, urban planners, policymakers, social workers, health experts and, of course, young people themselves, to talk about the issues that matter.

Following the summer holidays we will be publishing much more information about the content of the seminar, including our speakers and the programme.

In the meantime please click here for more information about the themes, and here for specific information about how to submit your abstract.

We look forward to welcoming you to Rotterdam in December!
