Bernard van Leer playground guide now in Spanish

The Bernard van Leer Foundation’s Playground Ideas for 0-3 years is now available in Spanish.

This guide shares practical ideas for designing playgrounds that work for children aged 0-3 and their caregivers. It outlines the functions play equipment should serve, such as providing places to hold onto for children who are learning to walk, and explains the rationale behind including features such as sand, sound and small spaces.

It was compiled by SUPERPOOL with the support of the Bernard van Leer Foundation, and is also available in English, Portuguese and Turkish. All these versions can be downloaded in PDF format here.

Sharing practical ideas

The foundation has also released a highlights video of the inaugural Urban95 Festival, which took place in the Dutch city of Rotterdam in December. Around 80 elected city leaders, planners, designers, thinkers and public servants from around the world got together to celebrate and learn about the work that’s being done to create child friendlier cities.
